I am a Manchester-based writer & web designer. I grew up here and have somehow managed to find my way back via four years in Sheffield (three of which were spent training to be a journalist) and one spent in Edinburgh.
By day I work as a copywriter, the rest of the time I keep myself very busy making websites for artists and not for profit organisations, and as a freelance feature writer and copywriter. I am NCTJ trained and a have a varied work experience in web design and development, copywriting, and marketing. For more info take a look at my CV.
I am always on the look out for creative opportunities and collaborations, and can offer very reasonable rates for copywriting, design and web building/maintenance services.
My creative inspirations come from many places but I have a particular thing for good literature, the great outdoors, chintz, red things, and the way things used to be in old black & white movies.
Some bits of the site are still very much 'under construction' so bear with me. Any questions send them to lucy@seventeenandinsane.com
Seventeen and insane?
The name comes from the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, so it pays homage to that, rather than my actual age which is a few years older than seventeen.
The quote goes "I'm seventeen and I'm crazy. My uncle says the two always go together. When people ask your age, he said, always say seventeen and insane."
