Bio
Lucy Meakin, 23. Writer and designer working between Edinburgh and Manchester. After graduating from the University of Sheffield in 2006 I went on to work in web marketing, mainly dealing with editorial but eventually ending up with responsibility for site building and maintenance. I have been involved in building and maintaining websites since I was about 16 (back when everyone used to have a homepage). When I grow up I want to work for myself and publish a magazine.
Work
I am currently working as a freelance writer and designer, working on various web based projects. I also work part time as an editorial assistant for the ethical travel website ecoescape.org and volunteer my web/writing skills to organisations including Fem Soc.
Hobbies and interests
Travelling around Scotland and trying to see as much of it as I can. I love the outdoors and try to stay active by running , walking and climbing. I write, not always for the money but for the love of it. And I like making websites because secretly I am a bit of a geek.
